--- About me ---

I just left Hurghada and my work at Euro Divers for another nice summer home in Sweden. I'll work for Kullen Dyk this summer as well. So if you are in Sweden and interested in diving don't hesitate to pass by Mölle for a dive or two.

Kura Kura Resort was my home when I was in Indonesia 2006. It’s located in the Java Sea between Java and Borneo. I was manager and instructor of the dive center on the Kura Kura Resort from April to September this year. It is a small center with more dive boats than employees. We are two divers and one helper, but we have seven dive boats ranging from slow wooden boats up to 36 feet 2x200hp speedboats.

Before that I was working at Colona Dive Center in Hurghada/Egypt. I worked there for nearly three years. My duties include teaching, guiding and I was responsible for caring and maintaining all the photographic equipment, both analogue (35mm) and digital cameras.

I've also worked as an Instructor for Scandinavian Sub Divers on Gran Canary and for Euro Divers in Hurghada. Before I became an Instructor I worked as a Divemaster onboard the 120m meter long sailing ship Star Clipper. In between the seasonal jobs I have been instructing and working as a DM for diving centers in Sweden. Oceanic, Buddy Divers, Dykmagasinet.

Before I began my diving career I was employed as a construction worker/ carpenter. I moved from construction into the sales industry where I worked as a Sales Assistant. During the time from 2001 – 2003 I became qualified as a Computer Technician / Network Technician.

--- Photography ---

I bought a small Canon Ixus400 digital camera with an underwater housing 2003 and from there it’s just gone crazy. My current photo equipment is Nikon D200, Nikkor 60mm macro, Sigma 105mm macro and Tokina 12-24mm. When I go diving I put the camera inside a Ikelite underwater-housing and I use a single Subtronic Gamma flash.

Considering that I more or less never used a camera before 2003 I think that I’m doing pretty OK, but there are always things that can get better. For me it’s the underwater photography that ranks the highest and as a far distant second place comes land photography. I think that it’s more challenging to take great underwater photos that land photos and that is one of the things that motivates me. I prefer to that macro pictures over wide angle. It’s a challenge to hoover steady while waiting for a small blenny to stay still long enough so that you could get a sharp picture.

I have been published in the German edition of DigitalPhoto as well as Wielki Błękit which is the largest East European dive magazine.
